The project was conducted during the construction of the Centerfield located in Yeoksam-dong, and it took place in Professor Kim Soo-jung's studio class. Nine different outcomes were produced, each centered around a distinct theme, all intended for the media wall positioned above the Centerfield reception area. Each team member participated in at least three projects, and additional artworks can be viewed at the link below.

Overview

"Night Flight" is created with the intention of recreating the disrupted experience of air travel due to Covid-19 and evoking the longing for travel among those who seek the center field for various purposes. It aims to capture the excitement felt during night flights while gazing out of the airplane window. The actual city of Seoul is meticulously reproduced in 3D modeling, depicting the view beyond the airplane window when looking down on Seoul from the sky. As this artwork slowly passes through the media wall, it signifies the anticipation of travel and the hope of returning to the pre-Covid era while observing the Seoul sky from above.

Project goal

LOst Nature

"Lost Nature" depicts a rock soaring through the air, coexisting with various natural elements such as moss, grass, and trees on its diverse surfaces. The architectural structure in the center field is designed to complement and harmonize with nature, providing a space for people to find tranquility. The massive rocks, symbolizing human-made stone structures, along with the organic elements living on them, embody the values of this center field. By graphically reproducing the majestic array of rocks, it simultaneously conveys the physical height of the center field and a sense of awe for nature. The two architectural structures in the center field are depicted as connected like a single thread, emphasizing their unity.

Anamorphic pillars

"Anamorphic" is an experimental piece designed for a virtual reality (VR) graphic experience, aiming to allow viewers to see the same scene from different angles. The composition of the screen is structured to provide visitors to the center field with diverse visual experiences. Pillars are strategically placed to create an anamorphic representation, and visual effects are orchestrated to enable viewers to perceive the anamorphic effect as they move at a walking pace.
